Geraline (Jerry) Thibodeaux LeMire

Geraline (Jerry) Thibodeaux LeMire, 83 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Breaux Bridge, LA on May 13, 1932 to Edwin and Clothilde Thibodeaux. The family moved to Port Arthur when she was nine months old and was a resident of Port Arthur and Groves throughout her life. Jerry was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves and was an active member of the Altar Society and a devout Catholic.
She attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1950. She then attended Port Arthur College and completed a Secretarial Course. In 1951, she was employed by Gulf Oil Corporation and retired early as a Confidential Secretary in 1967 to raise her daughter, Michelle. In 1981 she was rehired and retired in 1993 from Chevron as an Administrative Assistant with a combined service of 27 years. She made and loved her many friends from Gulf/Chevron. She often said they were happiest years of her life.
In 1955, she married Thomas LeMire and they were married 60 years. She is survived by her husband, her very special daughter Michelle Dene’ and son-in law Ross Borel. Other survivors are her brother, Homer Thibodeaux of Tampa, nephews, Kurt Knobloch, Steve and Chuck Thibodeaux, Dewayne Weber, one niece Geneva Hewell and many grand – nephews and grand – nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Hazel Knobloch, special niece Andrea Sue Weber and special sister-in-law Jeannie Thibodeaux.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 5 to 8 PM with a Wake Service at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 12, 2015 at St Peter’s Catholic Church, 2949 Taft, Groves, TX. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
