Henriette “Kay” Irby Adamson, 81 of Nederland passed away peacefully at home on June 29, 2024. Kay was born to Henry Ford Irby and Joyce Wayne Fountain Irby in Beaumont, Tx on February 11, 1943. Kay grew up in Nederland with her Grandmother “Mamo” Alzenith Ruth Sweeney Fountain and her Aunt Jewel Marie Fountain Root.
Kay was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Nederland. She taught Sunday School for several years. Kay graduated from Nederland High School in1961. Kay worked for several years at General Electric and Constructors Association of Sabine Area. Kay finished her career as a Secretary in the College of Business at Lamar University in Beaumont. She was in the Aces Car Club for many years and loved her 1966 Mustang.
Kay is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Carlton “Ryle” Adamson Sr., her parents, grandmother, Aunt Jewel and her great granddaughter Scarlet Wilson.
Kay is survived by her son Carlton Adamson Jr. of Beaumont, her daughter Allison Malone and husband Roger of Jasper, Grandchildren Dustin Adamson, Lauren Wilson and great grandchildren Blakely Wilson, Piper Adamson, Noah Adamson. Kay had a very special adopted Granddaughter Annaleigh Kennedy.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m., at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
