A 15-year-old has been arrested in connection with a December shooting which left a teenage girl from Port Arthur critically injured.
Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso said PAPD and Beaumont PD served a search warrant around 8 a.m. Wednesday in the 4600 block of Dellwood Lane in Beaumont. Police arrested a 15-year-old male on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.
Officers also seized a weapon and other evidence from the home.
The suspect was taken to Minnie Rogers Juvenile Justice Center. His name will not be released since he is a juvenile.
The search warrant and subsequent arrest are linked to a December 29 shooting at Sabina Townhomes in Port Arthur which left a 16-year-old girl critically injured.
Doorbell camera footage of the incident showed two people approach a car in a residence’s driveway and fire multiple shots into it before they fled the scene.
There were five people in the vehicle at the time, three of whom were juveniles. The victim did make a full recovery.
Another arrest was made in connection to the incident in April when Marcus Kemper was apprehended on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
