Crime Stoppers of SETX recognize heroes; Kelly Seigler earns Crime Stopper of the Year

BEAUMONT — Former Harris County prosecutor and leader of the Cold Justice team that works on unsolved homicide cases televised on Oxygen Kelly Siegler earned a new title recently — Crime Stopper of the Year.
Siegler brought attention to three local, prominent cold cases including the Kimberly Langwell murder. Her efforts assisted Beaumont Police Department in solving the 24-year-old cold case, officials with Crime stoppers of Southeast Texas said.
Siegler along with local and area law enforcement officers were honored during the 2024 Back the Blue Brunch which was held at MCM Elegante in Beaumont.
“As we work to keep the community safe, we like to recognize law-enforcement officers who go above-and-beyond the call of duty,” administrator Jeremy Raley said.
This year’s law enforcement award recipients include:
- Trooper Michael Priest, Texas Department of Public Safety (Orange)
- Captain Jason McClelland, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office
- Officer Jessica Johnnie, Orange Police Department
- Captain Marlon Lewis, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office
- Officer Cesar Beattie, Beaumont Police Department
- Detective Jeff Courts, Vidor Police Department
- Marine Division- Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office
- Officer Victor Brian and Officer Johnny Crawford, Silsbee Police Department
- Officer Chuck Cobb, West Orange Police Department
- Persons Unit – Beaumont Police Department
Two school districts were also recognized for going above and beyond implementing the Campus Crime Stoppers program throughout their districts; Hamshire-Fannett and Lumberton independent school districts.
