NEDERLAND — Gift of Life and Philpott Motors celebrated cancer survivors during the Take Out Breast Cancer Drive-Thru Luncheon Thursday.
In celebration of their strength and courage, survivors received a lunch, along with other gifts and goodies as they drove through the pinked-out parking lot flanked by cheering supporters from Gift of Life, Philpott Motors, and other benevolent community partners.
“It is a great pleasure to once again host this meaningful drive-thru luncheon for survivors,” Philpott General Manager Daren Granger, said. “This is an important cause that is near and dear to our hearts because we know cancer impacts so many Southeast Texans, and many need the critical assistance organizations like Gift of Life provide.”
Since 2009, Philpott Motors has championed the Gift of Life Women’s Breast Health and Cancer Prevention Program through numerous fundraising and awareness initiatives. Granger, Philpott Business Development and Community Liaison Bob Thewman and the entire Philpott Motors team annually transform the dealership into a festive setting for its special “pink party” in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Additionally, Philpott Ford generously pledged to donate $50 to Gift of Life for every vehicle sold during the month of October.
“Gift of Life is grateful for Philpott’s continued belief in our mission, which is made evident by this heartfelt celebration of survivors and the additional commitment to raise much-needed funds for our breast cancer initiatives,” Gift of Life Executive Director Norma Sampson, said. “We look forward to this day every year. Survivors should be celebrated, and we want them to know their community is proud of them.”
