Mrs. Rosa Mae Scott Hamilton, 94, of Port Arthur Texas, transitioned Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by family. A native of Port Arthur, she was born of Shelly and Lela Wyde Scott. Over the years she was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Mount Sinai Baptist Church and Thomas Boulevard Church of Christ.

Survivors include: Her sons, US Airforce Veteran Collins “Caldwell” Giron, Terry Linn Hamilton (Michelle), Arno Darwin Hamilton (Lashawna), US Airforce Veteran Darryl Hamilton (Nancy); daughter, Vitaline Giron Jones; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, US Navy Veteran Willie Wade Hamilton Sr.; sons, US Army Veteran Willie Wade Hamilton Jr., Douglas Lee Giron, and daughter, Claudette Giron Levine.

From a young age Rosa served her community as a Lifetime member of the NAACP, Eastern Progressive District City Wide Usher, and as the Former Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Naomi Chapter in Port Arthur, TX. At the age of 60, Rosa graduated from Lamar University Port Arthur as a Cosmetologist. She loved serving her clients for over 25 years. She loved to spend time with family, read, engage in local and national news, sing, dance and praise the Lord. She was affectionately known has Mama, Mama Rose, and Grandma Rosa and wore her husband, children, great and great great grandchildren as a badge of honor. She is loved, will be missed and is forever in our hearts.
