Johnny Rayford, 74 of Port Arthur died Friday, October 23rd at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas surrounded by family. A native of Lumberton, Mississippi, born on March 17, 1941 to the late Neley and Lorena Rayford, he lived in Port Arthur for 60 years. He was employed at Gulfport Shipbuilding Corporation retiring in 1998. Johnny loved the Lord, his beloved wife, children and foster children and reared them in the House of the Lord.
Johnny is also preceded in death by siblings Millie, Jacqueline, Arletha, Freddie Sr, (Betty), and Sue Ethel. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Henrietta Rayford, children, Henry (Maxine), Stephanie, Eric, Marilyn, Alma, William (Trula) and Yolanda (Terry); two brothers, Neley Jr., and Jerry.; 22 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
A Home going Celebration will be Friday, October 30th, 2:00 PM at Christian Faith Missionary Baptist Church with a Visitation at 12 noon. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Services entrusted to Hannah Funeral Home, Inc.
