JoAnn Simmons Young, 90, of Port Neches Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 19, 2025 at Provident Crossings Retirement Resort in Round Rock, Texas. She taught school in the PNG ISD for 25 years and was known as a patient and caring teacher who touched hundreds of children’s lives.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lee Kolda and husband Ronald Richard Kolda; her son, James Bennett Young.
