Coy Brack, a beloved man known for his infectious warmth and captivating storytelling, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on January 24, 2025, at Harbor Hospital House in Beaumont, Texas. Born on January 26, 1929, in Burkeville, TX, Coy was one of nine children in a family that valued hard work, integrity, and faith. Coy is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Robert Brack and Selma Estella Miller, and his siblings, Beatrice, Myrtle Lee, Angie, John Robert, Ois, Lawrence, LC, and Venice.
Coy is survived by his wife of 70+ years, Norene Anabel Fillyaw, and his 3 sons, Ron, Dal (Debbie Rutledge), and Marty (Debbie Hogan). The grandkids include Taylor (Tyne) Brack, Tanner (Rebekah) Brack, Tori Haas (Andrew), Shay (Cortney Duncan) Brack, Dillon (Monica) Brack, Gage (Jessica) Weldon, Cole (Camille) Weldon, Logan (Courtney) Brack, and Reagan Beers (Brandon) and a host of great grand kids. After serving honorably in the Korean War, Coy began a 35-year career at Texaco Refinery, where he was known for his dedication and craftsmanship. Retirement allowed him to pursue passions such as gardening and volunteering at his church.
A celebration of Coy’s life will be held at Grace Baptist Church in Groves, Texas, with visitation on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, and the funeral on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 PM at Newton Cemetery, Newton, TX on Hardy Street. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Harbor Hospice, especially Brenda
