Jermaine “Maine” Roy Young

Jermaine “Maine” Roy Young, a lifelong resident of Port Arthur passed away October 17th at the age of 25. Maine was employed in the petroleum and construction industry where he was a safety attendant.
He was born on October 23, 1989 to Brenda Young and James Elam, Sr. Maine was a 2008 honors graduate of Memorial High School and he later attended Lamar University.
Known for his loyalty and big heart, Maine made many friends with whom he shared a lifetime of memories. His legacy of laughter and family values will always be remembered. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Gladys Prater and Jay and Angie Nettles.
He is survived by his parents, brothers, James Young, Jr. and James Elam, Jr.; sisters, Cleopatra Wallace and Catherine Lewis. Maine was also affectionately known as “Uncle Maine” to 12 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 12 Noon on Friday, October, 30th at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, 1448 2nd Ave., Port Arthur. A visitation will be from 10 AM -12 Noon at the church. Interment will be private.
