Roy “Pete” Cox

Roy “Pete” Cox, 80, of Port Neches, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015. He was born on May 6, 1935, in Vaiden, Mississippi, to Ada Lee Brisendine and Rufus Eugene Cox.
Pete will be remembered as a jack of all trades and a very simple man. He was a member of the local Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union and First United Methodist Church, Port Neches.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Jill Cox; sons, Troy Eugene Cox and his wife, Cynthia, of Hixson, Tennessee; and Michael Jonathan Cox of Nederland; grandson, Taylor Evan Cox of Hixson, Tennessee; and sisters, Eloise Ellis of Clinton, Mississippi and Ruth Rossi of Grove City, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Darlene Faye Cox.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Cox’s memory to First United Methodist Church, 1826 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas 77651.
A gathering of Mr. Cox’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
