Earline Brown Ranka

Earline Brown Ranka, 84 of Port Arthur passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015.  Earline was born August 30, 1931 in Port Arthur to the late James E. Brown and Norma Mae Hebert Brown. Earline’s family describes her as a loving wife, dedicated mother and devoted grandmother.  She was a lifelong, active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Groves. She enjoyed painting, playing bridge and cooking for friends and her family. She was an excellent cook and was known for her baking.  She enjoyed supporting her sons in Little League and was greatly involved. Her greatest joy in life was her family.  She will be greatly missed.

Earline is preceded in death by her parents, her sons, David Ranka; Daniel Ranka; granddaughter, Kasey Ranka; grandson, Kyle Ranka and sister, Elna Albers.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Ranka; son, James Ranka and his wife Cathy of Port Neches; brother, Dr. James Brown and his wife Nelda of Port Arthur; sisters, Wyvon Schroeder and her husband Raymond of Port Neches; Wanda Sue Wilson of Fredericksburg; grandsons, Ryan Ranka; Danny Ranka, granddaughter, Kimberly Ranka and 3 great granddaughters.

The family sends special thanks to caregiver, Esmy Rocha for her loving compassionate care and New Century Hospice.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, Port Arthur. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 14, 2015 with entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
