Johnnie Lee Hope, 63, of Houston, Texas died Monday, December 28, 2015 at his home. He was a native of Port Arthur, Texas and a resident of Houston, Texas for 43 years. Johnnie retired from Chevron Phillips, Houston as an operator. He was a 1971 graduate of Lincoln High School.
Johnnie was a member of Higher Dimension Church, Houston where he served as a greeter.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Gabriel Funeral home, 2500 Procter Street, Port Arthur, TX from 9 A.M. until 11 A.M. Funeral service is scheduled for 11 A.M. at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dwight Thomas, Sr. and Rev. Gilbert Collins, officiating. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
He leaves to cherish his memories two sons Jonathan Hope, Los Angeles, CA and Sean D. Hope, Houston, TX; five brothers Larry Sr. (Valeria), Shelton (Rebecca), Kenneth (Jennise), Ricky Hope and Louis (Genobra) Russell all of Houston, TX; four sisters Patricia (Henry) Cole, Sandra (Louis) Boudreaux, Port Arthur, Barbara Gilkes and Isabelle Hope, Baytown, TX; and godchildren Ebony Mitchell, Port Arthur and Devin Simpson, Houston, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
