Ms. Helen Marie Johnson, 83 entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 1, 2016. She was born to the late Ruby Lee Carter and Eddie Johnson on December 27, 1932. Helen was reared in the city of Port Arthur, TX, a graduate of Lincoln High School, and was a resident of San Francisco, CA for 45 years. She had a lifelong career in nursing and retired from Laguna Honda Hospital in California. Helen spent the last six months of her life in Port Arthur under the care of her nephew, Dr. Thomas Kinlaw, III and his wife Valerie Kinlaw, while residing at Cypress Glen Nursing & Rehab Center.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Lee Carter and Eddie Johnson; daughter Shirley Johnson; brothers, Eddie, Tommy, and Joseph Johnson; sisters Barbara Malbrue, Bernice Pierce, Dorothy Christopher, Mable and Betty Ruth Johnson.
She is survived by a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 8, 2016 at Hannah Funeral Home at 11 a.m. and internment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
