Clara Simon, 99, of Groves, Texas passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016.
Clara was born December 30, 1916 in Rayne, Louisiana to Prosper Baronet and Loretta LeBlanc Baronet. She was a resident of this area for 74 years and was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Clara was a Ladies Auxiliary volunteer at St. Mary Hospital for 37 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Caesar Simon.
Survivors include her daughter, Lois Browning and her husband Maurice of Beaumont; three sons, R. J. Simon and his wife Betty of Port Neches, Rodney Simon and his wife Rhonda of Groves, and Mike Simon and his wife Sue of Groves; six grandchildren, Joan Grado and her husband Charles, Denise Griffith, Mike Browning, Aimee Rogers and her husband Mike, Stephanie Simon, Juliee Sparks and her husband Scott; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves with Reverend J. C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. Rosary Service.
