PREP ROUNDUP: Nederland scores rout at Lee

BAYTOWN — Six first-inning runs gave Nederland all the momentum needed to pick up a 9-2 road baseball win at Baytown Lee on Friday night.
An RBI double by Chase Kemp, two-run single by Case Babino and one-run singles by Austin Krautz and Kody Kolb accounted for five of the early runs. Krautz batted 2 for 4 and scored two runs.
Caine Williams allowed two runs over seven innings, struck out five and scattered five hits for the win.
Nederland added two runs on sacrifice pop-up and Babino single in the fifth. Kemp doubled in the final run in the sixth.
Kemp, Krautz and Babino each had two hits. Babino finished with three RBI.
PN-G 16, OZEN 0
BEAUMONT — Port Neches-Groves exploded for 12 runs in the fourth inning and eventually run-ruled Ozen in District 22-5A play Friday with the help of Carter Henry’s gem.
Henry held Ozen to its only hit, walked two and struck out 10 in 4 2/3 innings for the win.
In the big fourth, Logan LeJeune singled in two runs and doubled in another, Ryan Leckich doubled in one, Dylan McGough and Trey Toney picked up RBI and Adam Morse drove in another. LeJeune finished with four RBI on the night.
Five Indians each finished with two hits: Cole Girouard, Adam Morse, LeJeune, Leckich and Warren.
BRIDGE CITY 9, ORANGEFIELD 2
BRIDGE CITY — The Cardinals gained much-needed separation in the final two innings with five runs and knocked off the District 24-4A rival Bobcats at home.
An error, hit batsman and Tanner Doiron sac fly accounted for the three sixth-inning runs. On the mound, Doiron struck out 10 and held Orangefield to two earned runs, six hits and three walks in 6 2/3 innings.
Tod McDowell had two extra-base hits for Bridge City, including a one-run triple. He and Schuyler Thibodaux teamed up for four hits and three RBI.
Caleb Dubois also had two hits. Brett Fregia had two hits for Orangefield.
Josh Chandler gave up seven runs on six hits and struck out two in six innings for the Bobcats.
