Albert M. Andres, Jr., “Sunny” of Port Arthur, Texas passed away at his home Tuesday, March 29, 2016. He was born October 15, 1934 in Cade, LA to Albert Andres, Sr. and Rose Andres and lived the first several years of his life in Louisiana. He moved to Port Arthur with his parents during his late teenage years.
Albert was employed at Texaco Refinery with 41 ½ years of service as a pipefitter and supervisor. After several years of enjoying his retirement, Sunny began employment with Delta security and Patriot security as a guard for 7 years.
His favorite pastime was being outdoors grooming his yard and planting beautiful trees. He also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino with his loving wife of 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mable; daughters, Yvette, Ursula, Felicia and son, Brian, Sr.; sisters, Gussie and Shirley; grandchildren, Dorian, Alicia, Amber, Brian Jr., Tyler, Donnel, Barbara, Michelle, Monica, LaDonna, Paul Jr.; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wilfred, Harold and Alfred; a daughter Sheila; and a granddaughter, Tamara.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church, 3617 Gulfway Drive, Port Arthur, TX with viewing from 8 a.m. until service time. The rosary will be recited at 9:30 am. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
