UPDATE: All clear given after ExxonMobil bomb threat

Law enforcement has given the all-clear after a suspicious package was found at ExxonMobil Wednesday.

The call came in around 11 a.m. for the downtown Beaumont refinery. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Joint Terrorism Task force responded.

During the investigation a suspicious package was located at the B&P Gate. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms was called to assist along with the Port Arthur Fire Department’s bomb dog, according to Deputy Marcus McLellan with the sheriff’s office.

The package was checked and X-rayed by the Houston Police Department Bomb Squad who was called in by ATF.

There was no device found and the all-clear was given.

The Joint Terrorism Task Force is still investigating the incident.
