NEDERLAND — The Nederland Chamber of Commerce will be bringing the spirit of the local Bulldogs and local businesses to Boston Avenue this fall, just in time for the new school year.

That spirit will be heralded by stylish banners that depict both the Nederland Bulldogs and the names of businesses that purchase sponsorships.

“From August through September, we see a lot of traffic from school, football, and other sports [that come] into the area,” Sylvia Root, administrative assistant of the Nederland Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Bureau, said. “We just want to show our community spirit.”

Each banner will be three foot by five foot, and will be displayed on Boston Avenue from August through October of 2016. Each one will also sport the familiar black and gold of the Nederland Bulldogs, along with the name of a participating business on both sides.
