Flower shop to open on Lincoln

The scent of new business is in the air; and, sometimes that scent can be just as enticing as the flowers being sold from the shop.
Diane Davis, her husband, David Davis, and her sister, Stacey Kesterson, will soon be opening a flower shop, Queen Bee Flower Shop, on Groves’ historic Lincoln Avenue, nestled cozily in a grand old style building alongside other local businesses.
“I love it,” Davis said about the shop’s picturesque surroundings. “It’s got a small town Mayberry setting. I absolutely fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.”
Davis, a Tennessee native, would praise Groves for its “warm, welcome coziness;” however, it would be the business of their shop that she would really express her excitement for.
“Flowers have always been my passion. I have memories as a young girl of always wanting to grow and arrange them.”
Davis is certainly no rookie to the business either, as she has been a floral designer for 20 years.
“Love makes people smile,” Davis said. “Flowers are usually a way to show people how much they care.”
Meanwhile, the care and encouragement that their fellow neighbors have shown her and their business have been delightful.
“The support has been excellent,” Davis gushed. “I’ve made friends all over the avenue. We really do help each other out. I couldn’t ask for better support.”
Davis made note that all first responders—police, firefighters, EMT—receive a 30 percent discount; and funeral homes and hospitals receive free delivery. It would be her way of giving back to the community that has made her feel at home.
“It’s just a local, friendly, warm town,” she said with a smile.
Queen Bee Flower Shop will have its grand opening on August 1, on 4343 Lincoln Avenue, Suite C, inside the Maison d’ Amis building in Groves (also home to Hannah Bay’s Clothing).
You’ll be able to notice it by the lovely scent of flowers in the air.
