Billie Jean Williams Brown, 88, of Tucson, Arizona, died Friday, August 5, 2016, at her residence.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.  A eulogy will be given by her grandsons, Nicholas and Ryan Brown, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City.  Monsignor Kenneth Greig will serve as the celebrant.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Brown, Ryan Brown, Aaron Hollier, Jody Hollier, Chad Collins and Mike Collins.  Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Collins, Larry Hamilton and Robert Collins.

Born in Eunice, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana on May 30, 1928, she was a daughter of Willie D. and Ada (Manuel) Williams. For 47 years, she was a resident of Kansas City and Lee Summit, Missouri before relocating to the Crystal Beach, Texas and Bridge City, Texas areas. She had been a resident of Tucson for the last eight months. Mrs. Brown worked as a public relations representative for East Texas Chamber of Commerce.

Preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ada Williams and her sister and brother-in-law, Joy and I.C. Collins, Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of 67 years, Sam E. Brown; sons, Victor W. Brown and William A. Brown and wife Nancy; grandchildren, Zoe Bailey Brown, Nicholas A. Brown and Ryan T. Brown and wife Sarah; and two great grandchildren, Logan Thomas Brown, and Claire Elizabeth Brown.

Billie Jean was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and to know her was to love her.  She will be deeply missed.
