Sarah Wilson Smith, 78, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Kindred Hospital Clear Lake, Webster. She was born on October 30, 1937, in Port Arthur, to Mabel Ivey Wilson and Sidney Wilson. Sarah received her Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Art from Lamar Tech and taught at both Beaumont Independent School District and Port Arthur Independent School District. She loved her grandkids and playing bridge at The Bridge Studio in Beaumont.

Sarah is survived by her daughters, Suzy Lamb and her husband, Marshall; and Amy Williams and her husband, David; grandchildren, Ethan Lamb, Christopher Lamb, John Williams, and Scott Jacob Williams; niece, Melissa Hodges Vogeley and her husband, Kirk; and nephew, Keith Hodges and his wife, Michelle.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Ed Smith; her parents; sister, Minnie Lee Wilson Hodges; and brother-in-law, C.D. Hodges.

A gathering of Mrs. Smith’s family and friends will begin 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2016, at Broussard’s Chapel, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Memorial Fund at The Bridge Studio, 950 North Street, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
