Alton Wayne “Pop Tu” Anderson

Alton Wayne “Pop Tu” Anderson was born on June 30, 1973 in Port Arthur, TX to the union of Elton Anderson Sr. and Doris Anderson . Alton graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1991.

Alton was a very humble person with a heart of gold. His hobbies were fishing, cooking, watching football, and most all spending time with family and friends

Alton worked as a scaffold builder for Brand Energy Solutions for many years and later accepted a job at Excel Modular Scaffold

Alton departed this life on October 30, 2016 after a terminal illness at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont, TX surrounded by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elton Anderson Sr.; Grandparents, Sam and Mildred Ford and Willie and Bertha Anderson; uncles, Samuel Anderson, Sam Ford, and Shelton Ford; aunts; Mary Ann Cockrell and Zelma Banks; god sister, Lisa Ford; cousins; Waymen Cockrell, Donald Phillips, Arthur Banks Jr., and Carol Foster.

He leaves to cherish his memories 2 sons, Marcus and Todd Anderson, his loving mother, Doris F. Anderson; the mothers of his children, Carol Marie Bailey and Rose Sanchez; 4 brothers, Elton Anderson Jr.(Renee), Samuel Thomas, Eric James, Clint Ballard; 5 sisters, Hattie Hebert(Keith), Lena Mae Mouton, Mildred Dorsey, Audrey Smith, and Zelma Nico(Fredrick); 1 goddaughter, Adriana Frank, 2 uncles, Willie Ford(Alice) and Willie Anderson(Amy); 3 aunts, Louverdia Eaglin, Beatrice Ford, and Eva Anderson; special cousins; Willie Cockrell Sr., Martin Eaglin, and Laura Pruitt; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and many special friends

A wake will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel 2500 Procter Street, Port Arthur, TX. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
