BEAUMONT — A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a Groves man for an aggravated robbery that happened at a Port Arthur eatery.
Jordan Richard Hogan, 28, was indicted for the Oct. 24, 2014 of a man who had stopped at La Salsitas, 6048 Gulfway Drive, to grab a bite to eat before driving to Houston, according to court documents.
While in his vehicle, a shirtless man approached and spoke to him through the window while a man in a black tank top, identified as Hogan, opened the passenger side door and grabbed the victim’s wallet.
The victim got out of the vehicle and began to fight with Hogan while trying to get his wallet back. Hogan, according to the document, began throwing several large rocks at the victim, one of which hit the victim in the back of the head injuring him.
The charge of aggravated robbery is a first-degree felony.
An indictment is not a final conviction of guilt; it is only a ruling by the grand jury that allows the district attorney’s office to proceed with a criminal case.
