Former Port Neches-Groves quarterback is on the move again and this time Wade Phillips will coach in the City of Angels.
ESPN reported Thursday evening the Los Angeles Rams have hired him to be the team’s defensive coordinator.
Sean McVay, 30, was hired as head coach earlier Thursday and is the youngest man to serve as a NFL head coach in the Super Bowl era.
McVay was born 10 years after Phillips got his first NFL coaching job in 1976, according to ESPN.
Phillips has been DC with seven teams and has been the head coach of six.
His last role was defensive coordinator with the Denver Broncos, but his contract expired after the 2016 season.
Phillips’ defense is considered one of the main reasons Denver won the Super Bowl in 2015.
