Geraldine Cecile Parker Carter

Geraldine Cecile Parker Carter was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, the only child of Cecil and Janie Parker.  She married Wilbert Fields Carter, Sr. and later accepted the Catholic faith and has since been a faithful servant of God, her family and friends and faith community.  She was a member of the Altar Society, Ushers, Legion of Mary, and donated faithfully to many Catholic causes for continued propagation of the faith.

She was preceded by her parents, husband Wilbert Fields Carter, Sr., sons Joseph Bernard Carter and Cecil Gerard Carter and daughter Janice Marie Thomas.

She is survived by three daughters Denise Bates (and husband Clayton) of Houston, TX, Mary Carter of Decatur, GA and Karen Carter of Galveston, TX; two sons Kenneth of Knoxville, TN and Wilbert Jr. (and wife Belivian) of Houston, TX; niece, Nichelle Bonner and son-in-law Levy J. Thomas both of Port Arthur.  She is also survived by six grandchildren (Kimberly Thomas, Jameelah Carter-Rutledge, Jonathan Carter, Evan Bates, Trennis Carter, Malika Carter), and three great-grandchildren, Trinity Carter of Florida, and Joshua and Trinity Rutledge of Houston, TX, and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
