Authorities seek public help in accident

Authorities are still searching for the driver of an 18-wheeler that was involved in a crash on Interstate 10 in Orange County.
The authorities are seeking the public’s help.
On Wednesday, at approximately 11:45p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) received a report of a one vehicle crash on Interstate 10, near the 16th Street exit, in Orange County.
Initial reports indicated that the driver of a 2006 Cadillac passenger vehicle was traveling westbound on Interstate 10, lost control and struck a concrete barrier. After further investigation, DPS Troopers concluded that the driver of the Cadillac rear-ended the trailer portion of a moving truck tractor semi-trailer. After colliding with the 18-wheeler, the driver lost control and struck a concrete barrier.
The driver of the Cadillac, Otis Houston, 65, of Aurora Colorado, was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries. Houston has since been transferred to a hospital in Houston, Texas.
At this time, Troopers have not located the 18-wheeler that was involved in this crash. DPS is asking anyone with information in regards to this crash to contact the Orange DPS Office at (409) 883-0274.
All information is preliminary as this crash remains under investigation.
