Albert Joseph Decuir, Jr., age 86, of Port Neches, Texas died peacefully on August 25, at his home where he had resided for 62 years.

Albert was born in and was a lifelong resident of Port Neches, Texas and graduated from Port Neches High School.  He worked his entire career at Texaco Chemical (formerly Jefferson Chemical) where he retired after 44 years of service.

Albert (or AJ) was preceded in death by Pollie, his wife of more than 50 years; as well as his father, Albert J. Decuir, Sr., his mother, Sadie Concienne Decuir, and two sisters, Margie Viator and Goldie Ann Fore.

He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Port Neches where he faithfully served on the Building and Grounds Committee for many years.  During his lifetime, Albert was also a longstanding member of the Port Neches Lions Club in which he held numerous offices including President of the club.  Earlier in his life, he also served as President of the Port Neches Little League and was a former member of the Army National Guard.

Survivors include his three sons, Rick of Crofton, Maryland; Larry and his wife Cathy of Lilburn, Georgia; and Duane of Port Neches; a sister, Peggy Margaret Farris; three grandsons, Ryan, Austin, and Spencer; great granddaughter Violet; and a host of other relatives and friends, including close friend, Patsy Martin.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall Street, Port Neches, (409) 722-0253, with visitation at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Burial services will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, 618 Block Street, Port Neches.
