Prentiss Scofield

Prentiss Scofield, 83, of Port Neches, died Monday, October 16, 2017. He was born on August 24, 1934, in Carriere, Mississippi, to Lenora Deese Scofield and James Zachariah Scofield.

Prentiss was a United States Air Force veteran. While in the Air Force, he served five years in London, England where he met and married his wife. He retired after thirty-five years as an electrician and was a member and officer of IBEW Local #390 in Port Arthur. Prentiss was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Nederland. He enjoyed all sports, especially football, and was a referee.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-years, Pam Scofield of Port Neches; daughters, Kim Parker and her husband, Mike and Karen Snyder and her husband, Gregg, all of Nederland; grandchildren, Brent Snyder and his wife, Amanda; Grant Snyder and his wife, Lauren; Aaran Gassiott and her husband, Brandon; Amy Parker and her fiancé, Johnny Amann; great-grandchildren, Nora, Owen, and Audrey Snyder; Parker Rosas; and Sawyer Gassiott; and sister, Sonya Parish and her husband, James, of Nederland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lenora Scofield; and brothers, T.J. and Preston Scofield.

A gathering of Mr. Scofield’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by his funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
