Katheryn Louise “Kathy” Mevers

Katheryn Louise “Kathy” Mevers, 71, of Port Arthur, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 17, 2017, at The Medical Resort of Bay Area, in Pasadena, Texas, after an extended illness. Katheryn was born December 21, 1945, in Jasper, Texas. Kathy looked forward to attending her French HS Alumni events, Thursday night outings at Larry’s French Market, on-line shopping, sewing, and talking for hours on the phone. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Katheryn Gibson Martin and J V Husband. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Leslie J. “Buddy” Mevers, Jr.; three daughters, Tammie Ambriati and husband, Tom of Hankamer, Texas, Lesley Moore and husband, Allen of Atascocita, Texas, and Sarah Guin and husband, Chris of Groves, Texas. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brother, Steven Martin of Vidor, Texas; nieces, nephews and extended family and friends to cherish her memories.

A gathering of friends and relatives will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 22, 2017, with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 12:00 p.m., with Katheryn Louise’s uncle, Mike Husbands officiating, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
