Two Bulldogs named volleyball academic All-State

Nederland seniors Abbey Montalvo and Kameron Cuniff were named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s Volleyball Academic All-State team.

Both players achieved an academic average of better than 99. Montalvo, a first-team All-District 22-5A player, totaled 131 kills, 170 assists, 105 digs, 14 blocks and 19 aces during district play for the Bulldogs. She has already been accepted into Texas A&M.

Cuniff had 65 kills, 10 blocks and 31 digs in district play.

Nederland finished the season 19-14 and reached the 5A bi-district round.
