Cora Mavis Feldschau

Cora Mavis Feldschau, 89, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017, in Port Arthur. Cora was born on February 15, 1928, in Pickering, LA to the late Joseph Otto Hufstetler and Mary Elizabeth Greene Hufstetler in Pickering, LA. She worked for the Nederland School District with over 20 years of service in the education and food service department.

Those left to cherish her memories are her sons, James T. Feldschau, Jr. and Charles Ronnie Feldschau both of Port Neches; daughter, Sandra Feldschau Cutaia and husband, Ted of Port Neches; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Prothro of Warren, TX; granddaughters, Hannah Feldschau and fiance’, Tanner of Port Neches, Carla Prothro McNeel and husband, Ben of Warren, TX; 4 great-grandchildren and many more nieces, nephews and very close friends. Cora will be dearly missed and loved by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Otto & Lizzie Hufstetler; husband, James T. Feldschau, Sr.; son, Roy Prothro; sisters, Dee Hutchins and Bettie Mills; brothers, James, Odis, J.C., John R. and Kenneth.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, January 5, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home with the interment at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Cynthia Johnson, Elaine Stephens, Amy Terrell, Hospice Plus and Tasha for your awesome care. An extra special thanks to Robin, Cyd, Laura, Natalie, Gina and Shirley for making their mom’s last days comfortable and for showing such love and compassionate care at Robin’s Home Away From Home.
