Francis Petry, Jr.

Mr. Francis Petry, Jr. was born to the union of the late Francis Petry, Sr. and Fannie Plowden Petry on January 9, 1941 in Abbeville, Louisiana.  He moved to Port Arthur, TX at an early age and was educated in the public schools of Port Arthur, TX.  He attended Lincoln School from grade school to 12th grade.  Francis accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. S.M. Franklin at the Eastern Star Baptist Church.  After high school, he worked in the labor force.  He entered the United States Army in 1961. He later received an honorable medical discharge.    

He later united with the East Mount Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Arthur Trainer.  He remained a member until his health failed and he could no longer attend church.

Cherishing beautiful memories are his brothers, Andrew B. Petry (Sylvia) and Leonard Petry (Barbara); sisters, Hellen Provost and Gladdie Fowler (Eddie Sr.) all of Port Arthur, TX; a godson, Eddie R. Fowler, II (Cheri) of Katy, TX; one uncle Andrew Petry of Beaumont, TX; two aunts, Ruth Harmon and Rose Jordan of Abbeville, LA.  Also cherishing his beautiful memories are his loving nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday, 2:00 PM, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, viewing will begin at 1:00 PM. Rev. Felton Randall officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Hannah Funeral Home, Inc.
