Rebecca (Becky) Stutzenbaker

Rebecca (Becky) Stutzenbaker, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas.

Becky was born June 1, 1939 in Canton, Mississippi to parents Hubert and Rachel Boone Stanley.

She was raised in Jackson, Mississippi and graduated from Mississippi College in Clinton with a degree in Elementary Education. She accepted a job with the Port Arthur Independent School District and taught for a total of 26 years. She taught at Stephen F. Austin, Pease and Lee Elementary schools.

She was a member of the United Methodist Temple in Port Arthur, PEO and several quilting groups. For a number of years she taught swimming lessons in her backyard pool.

She was a faithful wife, loving mother, kind grandmother and a steady and reliable friend to many. She will be missed by those lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Hubert and Rachel Stanley.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Charles D. Stutzenbaker of Port Acres; daughters, Julie Davis and husband Alan of College Station, Ellen Stutzenbaker Hamilton and husband Trey of Port Acres; granddaughters, Emily Davis of College Station, and Katherine Davis of Waco; sister, Tijanua Boyanton and husband Perry of Canton, Mississippi; cousins, Douglas and Mozelle Herring of Starkville, Mississippi, and Keith Boone and wife Donna of Glenmore, Louisiana.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
