TRACK: Memorial’s Smith wins 800 at TSU

HOUSTON — Ny’reonna Smith of Memorial won the girls’ 800-meter race in the Texas Southern University Relays on Saturday.
Smith ran 2 minutes, 26.8 seconds in the event, with teammate Amaria Joubert coming in 10th. The Memorial girls also had a top-10 finish in the 4×100-meter relay (eighth).
The Memorial boys racked up two third-place finishes in the 4×100 (41.34) and sprint medley relay. Ireon Brown came in fifth in the 200 meters (21.99) and the Titans were fifth in the 4×400.
