Groves police calls, March 28 through April 3

Groves Police responded to the following calls from March 28 through April 3

Wednesday, March 28

  • An information report was processed in the 6300 block of Warren Street.
  • A mental commitment and a criminal trespass warning was processed.
  • Miscellaneous items were reported taken from a persons residence without permission in the 7000 block of Willow.
  • A criminal trespass warning was issued in the 6800 block of Washington after a call in reference to a disturbance.
  • An assault report was processed in the 5200 block of Wilson.

Thursday, March 29

  • A 29-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after officer observed a vehicle traveling west bound in the 5400 block of 39th Street at a high rate of speed and splitting two lanes of traffic. The officer continued to pursue the vehicle into the 5200 block of 39th street where the driver then struck a curb and drove off the roadway before the driver jerked the vehicle back onto the roadway, the vehicle finally came to a stop in the 4000 block of Twin City Highway.
  • An 18-year-old woman was arrested for outstanding warrants and a citation was issued to the driver of the vehicle for other offenses in the 5200 block of East Parkway as well as a small amount of marijuana that was in the drivers vehicle.
  • Keying to a vehicle was reported in the 4200 block of Main Avenue after a call in reference to criminal mischief.
  • A criminal trespass warning was issued in the 3700 block of Charles Avenue after a call in reference to an unwanted person.
  • A 61-year-old man was arrested for outstanding warrants in the 2000 block of Orange Acres after a call in reference to a wanted person for active warrants whom is a citizen of our city.
  • An information report was processed.
  • A 36-year-old woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated second offense and for outstanding warrants in the 2300 block of Owens, after a traffic stop for the driver operating an unauthorized motor vehicle on a public roadway.

Friday, March 30

  • Harassment from an unwanted person was reported in the 4200 block of Main Avenue. The victim said while she was driving in the 4500 block Twin City Highway, an unwanted person was following her.
  • A mental commitment was processed in the 6900 block of Washington.
  • A 38-year-old woman was arrested for public intoxication in the 6200 block of Monroe after a call in reference to a female sitting in the ditch screaming and crying.
  • A 24-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after officer observed a subject yelling out of the window in the 6200 block of Monroe, and the officer began following the suspicious vehicle. The subject proceeded to take a right onto Jackson street, and then continuing to elude took another right onto Garfield at a high rate of speed up to Monroe where the subject then took a left and the officer then activated the siren at which time the subject finally pulled over in the 6400 block of Monroe.

Saturday, March 31

  • A 42-year-old man was arrested for outstanding warrants in the 5200 block of East Parkway after a traffic stop due to a vehicle having expired registration.
  • A 34-year-old man was arrested for outstanding warrants in the 6100 block of Coolidge after a traffic stop for vehicle having defective equipment.
  • Theft of medication was reported in the 3100 block of Woodlawn.
  • An assault was reported in the 5200 block of East Parkway.
  • A 41-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated for a second offense after officers saw the vehicle traveling northbound in the 2800 block of Taft and the side tires of the vehicle leave the roadway and travel in the grass alongside the road. The Officers continued to follow the vehicle for several blocks and observed the vehicle swerve several times into the opposite lane of travel. The officers activated the emergency red and blue lights to conduct a welfare check in the 3200 block of Taft Avenue.

Sunday, April 1

  • Three unidentified men took food from the counter of the business and left, almost striking the manager with their vehicle in the 4500 block of Twin City Highway.
  • An assault was processed after a call in reference to a domestic disturbance in the 2700 block of Boyd Avenue.
  • A criminal trespass warning was issued in the 6200 block of Howe Street after a call in reference to a neighbor pulling a gun on the complainant and her children while they were trying to retrieve their dog that had gotten loose and ended up in a neighbor’s yard.
  • An information report was processed.

Monday, April 2

  • A criminal trespass was issued in the 5100 block of Foster after a call in reference to information regarding an unwanted person on the complainant’s property.
  • An assault was reported in the 4200 block of Main Avenue.
  • Theft of prescription medication was reported in the 6400 block of Terrell.
  • A 31 year old male was arrested for outstanding warrants and an assault report was processed in the 3200 block of Woodlawn after a call in reference to a loud disturbance between a man and a woman.

Tuesday, April 3

  • A 24-year-old woman was arrested for outstanding warrants and issued a criminal trespass warning in the 4600 block of Twin City Highway after a call in reference to a hold-up alarm, but there was no robbery in progress.
