James Edward (Roscoe) Mayon, Sr., 66, of Port Arthur, TX passed away on Friday April 6, 2018 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.  A native of Opelousas, LA, James relocated to Port Arthur, TX in 1973 where he met and married the mother of his children, Cynthia Boatman-Mayon.

He is survived by three children, James Mayon Jr. (Stacey), Rashanda Mayon-Brannon(Willard), Lashanda Mayon (Michael) all of Port Arthur, TX; four brothers, Hilton Mayon Sr. (Mary Geneva), Martin Mayon, Sr. (Mary Ann), and John Ronald Mayon, Sr. all of Port Arthur, TX and Allen Mayon Sr. (Jacqueline) of Opelousas, LA; one sister Mildred Ann Mayon of Port Arthur, TX; eight grandchildren; his significant other, Veronica Martin-Scypion of Port Arthur, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with visitation from 8 a.m. until service time.  The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
