Preliminary reports indicate a 2014 BMW was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 followed by a 1992 Oldsmobile passenger vehicle and a 2013 Ford pickup truck.

The driver of the Ford failed to control his speed and rear-ended the Oldsmobile. The crash impact pushed the Oldsmobile into the BMW, DPS said.

The driver of the Oldsmobile, Bradley Romar, 28, of Beaumont, was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford and the driver of the BMW were not injured.

The crash remained under investigation.
