Charles Leonard Jackson

Charles Leonard Jackson, 88, of Bridge City passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Charles was born on August 17, 1929 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Orene (Foster) and Joseph C. Jackson. He retired from Chevron after 32 years as a Lab Technician and was a member of United Methodist Temple in Port Arthur. He served his country in the US Army. Charles enjoyed photography and going camping; he also enjoyed going to garage sales and pawn shops. Charles was a loving man who will be dearly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Charles is survived by his wife, Hazel Jackson of Bridge City, TX; son, Keith Jackson and his wife, Karon of Groves, TX; daughters, Cheryl Buffington of Fannett, TX, Susan Collins of Mauriceville, TX, Donna LaTurner and her husband, Rex of Bridge City, TX; step-sons, Ronnie Long and his wife, Robin of Onalaska, TX, Wayne Butler of Sandia, TX; step daughter, Pamela Akins of Onalaska, TX. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 6 pm until 8 pm at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A 2 pm funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the funeral home, with Rev. Guy Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
