A Beaumont man has been found guilty in three cases of aggravated sexual assault of a child, Criminal District Attorney Bob Wortham announced Monday.

Daniel Adam Billingsley, 37, was sentenced to a total of 100 years in the custody of the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. A jury returned the verdict Friday.

In an issued statement, Billingsley was convicted in connection with a Dec. 14, 2016 case in which a child, then 10, suggested to her mother that Billingsley had molested her in a series of escalating assaults that occurred over a period of several months.

The victim was examined at a hospital and interviewed by Beaumont police. In the statement, Wortham’s office said the child gave consistent testimony about what happened in incidents in Beaumont and in Louisiana.

Billingsley asked for the court to assess punishment; Judge Larry Gist imposed sentences of 50 years in two, concurrent cases and an additional sentence of 50 years in the third case, to run consecutively to the other two.

The District Attorney’s office said Billingsley, who was previously convicted for felonies — two cases of burglary and credit card abuse — must serve at least half his sentence — 50 years — before he could be considered for parole.
