The Houston Rockets on Friday re-signed restricted free agent Clint Capela to a reported five-year, $90-million deal.

The 6-foot-10 Swiss center finished as runner-up for the Most Improved Player award in the NBA. He averaged 13.9 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.85 blocks per game, becoming the first player to break 13 points, 10 rebounds and 1.80 blocks in fewer than 28 minutes per game in regular-season history. Capela, 24, recorded 42 double-doubles in 74 games last season, an increase from 25 in 154 career games during his three prior seasons. Houston went 21-0 in games when he blocked three or more shots and 36-5 when he rejected at least two.
