Lamar soccer standouts Amelia Fullmer, Kelso Peskin and Lucy Ashworth were all named to the Preseason All-Southland Conference first team, the conference announced Wednesday.

Also on that list is Nederland graduate and McNeese State sophomore Emma Roccaforte. Lamar senior midfielder Juli Ocampo was named to the second team.

All four first-teamers players earned All-Southland honors last season.

Fullmer, a senior defender from Utah, transferred to Lamar last year from Iowa Western College and played all but 90 minutes during the season. Her 2,000 minutes played is a Lamar single-season record for field players.

Peskin, a senior forward from South Africa who started at Tyler Junior College, was the Southland’s newcomer of the year. She had eight goals and 11 assists on the season.

Ashworth, a sophomore forward from England, compiled four goals and eight assists as a true freshman.

Roccaforte started 14 matches, made 63 saves and allowed only 11 goals as a true freshman at McNeese a season ago.

Lamar will begin the regular season at home against Grambling State on Aug. 17.
