PAPD works two separate shootings over weekend

Police in Port Arthur were busy over the weekend with two unrelated shootings, one of which was serious.
The call to police for the first shooting came in around 8:15 a.m. Saturday where both the victim, age 33, and suspect, age 30, were found at Peek Avenue and Gulfway Drive, according to a police spokesman.
The actual shooting is believed to have happened in the 1200 block of Delaware.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and the suspect was taken into custody. No names were released by police.
The second shooting occurred around 10:19 p.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of 15th Street where a 39-year-old man was shot once in the abdomen. The man was transported to Southeast Texas Medical Center by ambulance then life-flighted to St. Elizabeth Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The suspect in this shooting remains at large. Police did not release any names in this incident and both incidents remain under investigation.
