Police in Port Arthur were busy over the weekend with two unrelated shootings, one of which was serious.

The call to police for the first shooting came in around 8:15 a.m. Saturday where both the victim, age 33, and suspect, age 30, were found at Peek Avenue and Gulfway Drive, according to a police spokesman.

The actual shooting is believed to have happened in the 1200 block of Delaware.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and the suspect was taken into custody. No names were released by police.

The second shooting occurred around 10:19 p.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of 15^th Street where a 39-year-old man was shot once in the abdomen. The man was transported to Southeast Texas Medical Center by ambulance then life-flighted to St. Elizabeth Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect in this shooting remains at large. Police did not release any names in this incident and both incidents remain under investigation.
