Tamara Nicole Austin “Nikki” departed her earthly life on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Medical Center of South East Texas.

Tamara was a 1993 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. Tamara was a resident of Port Arthur for 43 years. Tamara was affectionately known by many as Mama T, Tam, Nikki and Chicken to some. She was employed by Vallen as a Rental Technician. Tamara was formerly a member of the New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Donald R. Frank Sr. While at New Hope she attend the Wednesday night women ministry Vessels of Hope under the leadership of Minister Cheryl Black-Fitzpatrick. Tamara decided to go back to her childhood church home the East Mount Olive Baptist Church.  She was a faithful member of East Mount Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Lee E. Fields Jr.  Tamara was a member of the Voices of Praise and the Ruth Circle.

Tamara was preceded in death by her grandparents: Mary L. Pitts Bush, A. G. Austin, Daisy Scypion White and John White.

Tamara leaves to cherish her life, love and precious memories her two daughters Teiarria “Te-Te” Simpson , Jahnarri “Pie” Nelson; her mother Lovie Austin; father Delbert “Chub” Flucas (Tina); brother Donathan Flucas; son Daren Hayes Jr.; grandson Daren “Tre” Hayes III; a very very special friend Daren Hayes Sr.; special cousins, Teressa Bush-Mayfield, Tiffany Wade, Shakada Kelley-Mayfield, and Tandalon Latulas; God parents; Sarah Flucas, Harry Jones, Christina Carpenter, and the late Horace Hollins Jr., a host of aunts, great aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Tamara ‘s life and legacy will be honored at her Homegoing Celebration on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church, located 549 West Gulfway Drive, Port Arthur, TX. with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
