Boyd Lee Bradford, Sr.

A life well-lived in service to others Boyd was born October 31, 1936 in Port Arthur, Texas to Thomas Hayden Bradford and Bessie Irene Bradford, née Wilder, and passed away on January 23, 2019 at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Danielle Hankin Bradford. He was the last surviving member of his family.
Left to cherish his memory are: his wife Wanda Watkins Bradford of Bluefield, West Virginia; his three sons, Boyd, Jr (and Leila) of La Palma, California, Bryan (and Teresa) of San Antonio, Texas, Barry of Broomfield, Colorado; three step-daughters Alisa (and Jimmy Blankenship), Jamie (and Clifford Mitchem) of Bluefield, West Virginia, Krista (and Stephen Sisk) of Princeton, West Virginia; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Boyd proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He retired in 1975 as a Master Sergeant. He enjoyed many hobbies, including leatherworking when he was younger, camping with his family, and after retiring to civilian life, fishing and making practical and beautiful things from wood.
The Bradford family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, TX. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 also at Melancon’s at 10:00 a.m., with full military honors to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, TX.
