Mary Maxine Jennings Moak

Mary Maxine Jennings Moak, 86, of Nederland, TX passed away peacefully Monday, January 28, 2019 at Summer Place Nursing Home in Beaumont, TX.

Mary was born on November 4, 1932, to Lizzie Guidry Jennings and Hammond Barnett Jennings in Port Arthur, TX. She was raised in Sabine Pass and moved to Nederland in the 1950s.  She lived in Groves for most of her adult life, then Winnie, and finally back to Nederland. She was a graduate of the Port Arthur Business School. Mary enjoyed reading and visiting with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is survived by her son, Billy Joe Moak Jr. and his wife Saundra Moak, of Silsbee, TX; daughter, Mary Grossman and her husband Matthew Hagepanos, of Charleston, SC; son, Oliver Moak and his wife Mayra, of Port Arthur, TX; son, Charles Moak, of Port Neches, TX; granddaughter, Melissa Grossman of Miami Beach, FL; grandson, Michael Grossman of Hanahan, SC; granddaughter, Charleen Moak of Port Neches, TX; granddaughter, Laura Soto of Port Arthur, TX; granddaughter, Melissa Madriz of Port Arthur, TX; grandson, Jimmy Madriz of Port Arthur, TX; and several great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Joe Moak Sr.; brother, Hammond Barnett Jennings Jr.; and sister, Louetta Martens.

The visitation for her family and friends will be at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 2, 2019, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, TX.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas.
