Ruperto Falcon

Ruperto Falcon, 83, of Port Arthur, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at his residence in Port Arthur with his loving family by his side.

Ruperto was born on March 27, 1935, in Port Arthur to Andrea (Hernandez) and Agapito Falcon. He was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Ruperto was a pipefitter and retired from Chevron in 2000, after 30 years of service.  He enjoyed working outdoors, gardening, and attending as many sporting events as he could to see his grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

He was a 1954 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, served in the US Army in the National Defense Special Forces Guided Missile Group, taught CCD at Our Lady of Guadalupe atholic Church, was a member of the Knights of Columbus – Santa Maria Council, member of the Mexican Heritage Society of Port Arthur, coached softball at the Bellaire Girls Softball League for many years, and was an All-American City Participant in Atlanta, Georgia in 2000.

Survivors include, his wife Juanita Adams Falcon, 3 daughters Andrea Velazco and her husband, Jose of Port Arthur, Nelda Ledezma and her husband, Maurilio of Beaumont, Celeste Ramsey and her husband, John of Fannett, sister Socorro Head of San Antonio, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge special nieces who have always been there to support Ruperto, Cissy Sandoval, Theresa Harbert, and Susie Reyes.

Ruperto was preceded in death by his grandparents Candido and Guadalupe Villafana, who raised him after his parents passed away when he was a young child, parents Agapito and Andrea Falcon, brothers Joe Falcon, Agapito Falcon, Jr., sisters Victoria Cantu and Maria “Mary” Gallegos.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019, from 5pm until 8pm, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30pm at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, March 22, 2019, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur, with Reverend Kevin Badeaux, serving as celebrant.
