TRACK: PA’s Vincent runs second-fastest NCAA 100 in 2019

Port Arthur native Kary Vincent Jr. matched the second-fastest 100 meters among NCAA sprinters this season Saturday at his home LSU Invitational, and it was his first time in the dash since he was a senior at Memorial High School.

Vincent turned in a time of 10.07 seconds with a 2.6 meter-per-second wind. It is tied for second with Mario Burke of the University of Houston. Cravon Gillespie of Oregon ran 10.04, the website reported.
Vincent’s 10.07 is fourth fastest in LSU history and fastest since Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake’s 9.99 two years ago, 247sports.com reported.
Vincent’s teammates, Jaron Flournoy (10.17) and Akanni Hislop (10.19) came in second and third, respectively.
LSU’s next meet is the SEC Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Thursday-Saturday.
