One year ago, a gunman took the lives of 10 students and teachers and left 13 others injured in a shooting at Santa Fe High School. To mark this occasion, U.S. Rep. Randy Weber, R-Friendswood, released the following statement:
“Santa Fe’s strength and courage is remarkable. Their faith in each other has seen them through the darkest of trials. Together, united, healing begins. At every milestone, and whenever help is needed, Santa Fe gathers together to comfort, support, honor, and remember. Today, we do so again.
“The heroism of students and teachers, the swiftness of first responders, and the outpouring of support from the community is second to none. My heart and my prayers remain always with Santa Fe and with the families and friends of those present in school that day.
“In honor of Jared Black, Shana Fisher, Christian Riley Garcia, Kyle McLeod, Angelique Ramirez, Sabika Sheikh, Chris Stone, Kimberly Vaughan, Ann Perkins, and Cynthia Tisdale, we are Santa Fe Strong — today, tomorrow, always.”
