Kayla Danell Johnson, 33, was born November 27, 1985 in Port Arthur, TX to Edith Bowden Johnson and the late Andrew Johnson.  She departed this life on Monday, June 17, 2019 at UTMB Jennie Sealy Hospital in Galveston, TX.

Kayla was a 2004 graduate of Memorial High School in Port Arthur.  She enjoyed helping others and spending time with family and friends.

Kayla is preceded in death by her father Andrew Johnson; paternal grandmother Katherine Tompkins and maternal grandfather James A. Bowden, Jr.  She leaves to cherish her memory her seven month old baby girl, Averie, who was the pride and joy of her life; her mother Edith Bowden Johnson; brother, Kendall Johnson; sister, Kharlye Johnson; grandmother Rita Bowden; aunt & godmother Jamesetta Bowden of Port Arthur; uncle Peter Bowden (Cheryl) of Pensacola, FL; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the rosary recited at 9:30 a.m.  Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Fr. Anthony Afangide, M.S.P. officiating.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
